1906-D Liberty Head Double Eagle. MS-63 (NGC).
A beautiful Choice example with pale ivory-gold hues and hints of honey patina noted on the reverse. The luster is uniform and satiny and fully undisturbed by notable blemishes. Absolutely superior eye appeal for the assigned grade. Liberty Head double eagles were struck at the Denver Mint in the years 1906 and 1907 only, with 620,250 examples coined during its first year of operation. The Mint State population is estimated at the mid four-figure level, which means that many collectors will have the opportunity to acquire an attractive example of this historic issue. However, the coin offered here is finer than most and available for the fist time in nearly three decades. It will certainly see spirited bidding at auction.
