Description
"1799" (ca. 1863) Undraped Washington / Liberty Cap Medal. By George Hampden Lovett. Musante GW-513, Baker-148. Copper. MS-66 RB (PCGS).
29 mm. Handsome blue-green patina on the obverse with faded red in the fields. The reverse retains even more original red. A really attractive medal from this fairly scarce series. Just 16 pieces are believed to have been struck in copper.
