Obverse: Helmeted head of Athena right; Reverse: Nike standing left, holding wreath and stylis; no controls visible. A charming specimen of Macedonian gold, with the lack of control marks making an attribution of mint and time incomplete. Though the noted scratches are evident to the left of Athena's bust, this drawback does not impinge too much on the overall beauty of the piece. A great chance to acquire a potential lifetime of Alexander the Great Stater.
