An interesting trio of notes from the 26th of July movement from Cuba. The movement was led by Fidel Castro (whose printed signature is found on these notes) to overthrow the U.S. backed dictator Fulgencio Batista. The movement commemorates the attack on the army barracks on Santiago de Cuba which in turn was supposed to ignite the revolution to overthrow the dictator. This was later accomplished in 1959 from theguerrilla base Sierra Maestra, which overran thearmy barracks on Santiago de Cuba, ultimately waking Batista's rule. Toning with very minor soiling.
