SPAIN. Cob 8 Reales, 1605. Toledo Mint. Philip III. NGC AU-55.

KM-38.2; cf. Cal-type 172 #985. Weight: 27.36 gms. NGC notes this attractive and lustrous 8 Reales Cob as a 1605 dated example, but does not mention a mint. Krause and Calico list only a single mint for 1605, making the current example most likely from the Toledo mint. Boldly struck and with ample mint luster, this is a great example of the ever-popular type.
