MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1874-Cn MP. Culiacan Mint. NGC MS-62.

KM-377.3; DP-Cn30. Variety with added "N" in the mint mark. A beautiful example of this RARE date, this example has good luster remaining and despite a somewhat flat strike and a planchet flaw on the obverse, this remains a good piece for the collector of the popular cap and rays 8 Reales series. Upon close inspection, the obverse legends have been repunched and both the obverse and reverse dies exhibit signs of degradation. Also noticed is that the last digit of the date appears to be a 4 over 3. The degradation and apparent overdate are indicative of utilization of an old die.
