Description

GREAT BRITAIN. Anglo-Saxon. Kings of All England. Penny, ND (ca. 997-1003). Canterbury Mint; Eadweald, moneyer. Aethelred II. PCGS AU-58.

S-1151; N-774. Obverse: Draped bust left; Reverse: Voided long cross, with pellet at center and triple-crescent ends. A well endowed strike with a consistent gray tone and attractive glossy surfaces. No signs of clipping or problems, and very little evidence of handling is present. Tied for the second finest ever certified by PCGS.
