1849 Punjab medal with one clasp: MOOLTAN. Silver, 36 mm. MY-114, BBM-68. Swivel mount and scroll suspension. Very Fine.
"Lt E.A. HARDY 1st REGt L. CAVALRY LANCERS" engraved on edge, an apparent renaming with traces of rim alteration. Dusky medium gray. Lt. Edmund Armitage Hardy, later Col. Hardy, was entitled to and did receive a medal with clasp for MOOLTAN. He was also wounded at Nusserabad and served as Assistant Adjutant General of Division at Kotah during the Indian Mutiny of 1857 and 1858. It appears rather unlikely this was his medal. Offered with a modern ribbon.
