JUDAEA. First Jewish War, 66-70 C.E. AR Shekel (13.91 gms), Jerusalem Mint, Year 3 (68/9 C.E.). NGC AU, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5. Edge Marks.

Meshorer-202; Hendin-1361. Obverse: Omer cup; "shekel of Israel; year 3" around and above; Reverse: Three pomegranates on stem; "Jerusalem the holy" around. A slight degree of off-centering is noted on the obverse, along with the noted subtle edge marks, but overall this piece presents a charming cabinet tone with a bold strike.
