SICILY. Syracuse. Timoleon & The Third Democracy, ca. 343-317 B.C. AR Stater (8.54 gms), ca. 344-339/8 B.C. NGC EF, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5.

HGC-2, 1400; Pegasi-7; SNG ANS-508. Obverse: Pegasos flying left; Reverse: Helmeted head of Athena right; AI to left. This piece is well struck and richly endowed with detail on a somewhat compact flan. A beautiful and glossy luster coats the lightly circulated surfaces.
