HGC-1, 1643; HN Italy-2478; Herzfelder-16 (D9/R14). Obverse: Facing scalp of lion; Reverse: Iokastos seated left on chair, resting hand upon hip and holding long staff; all within wreath. The noted edge bend is rather minor, allowing this well handled piece a good deal of charm through its deep cabinet toning and bold obverse relief.
