Description

Lot of (2) NJ-195 & NJ-199. New Jersey. January 9, 1781. 1 Shilling and 6 Pence & 4 Shillings. PMG About Uncirculated 50 & Uncirculated 62.

High-grade pair from this late New Jersey issue. Both printed by Isaac Collins of Trenton, NJ. The One Shilling Six Pence note is signed by Smith and Weir. PMG has noted "Stained." The Four Shilling note is signed by Smith and Brearley. PMG notes "Corner Damage." David Brearley was a signer of the Constitution of the United States. Despite their problems these are both high-grade examples from this rather challenging 1781 emission.

Estimate: $900.00 - $1200.00
