NJ-156. New Jersey. December 31, 1763. 12 Shillings. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ.
No. 2229. Signed by Johnston, Smith, and Smith. Printed by James Parker. Bold New Jersey coat of arms at left. Detailed nature leaf print on back. Tied for Top Pop at PMG. Notes from the March 1776 series survived in sheet form and were printed widely spaced between notes. Such is not the case for the 1756 and 1763 issued notes, which is why gem examples are such a challenge to locate. We sold this same ex: Ford note two years ago for $720. In today's market, which has propelled upward as if powered by rocket fuel, we would be shocked not to see a run at a four-figure price realization.
Estimate: $900.00 - $1200.00
