1854-FD Octagonal $1. BG-507. Rarity-6+. Liberty Head. EF-45 (PCGS).
Light honey-olive color greets the viewer from both sides of this boldly defined and appreciably reflective example. The 2003 Bob Leonard census lists only 15 examples of this elusive BG number, with the usual qualifier that there is "Probably considerable duplication" included. A coin that is sure to spark an exciting bout of bidding activity among advanced specialists in this series.
