Description
1854-D Liberty Head Half Eagle. Winter 31-T. Weak D. EF Details--Scratch (PCGS).
The D mintmark was lightly impressed into the reverse die and is only faintly discernible in outline form in the field below the eagle. Despite its status as one of the more readily obtainable Dahlonega Mint half eagles, the 1854-D is scarce to rare in all grades. This piece displays more original and attractive surfaces than most and is sure to appeal to budget minded Southern gold collectors.
