1888 Morgan Silver Dollar. Proof-64 (NGC).
Lightly toned in various smoky-silver shades, direct lighting calls forth more vivid undertones of gold and champagne-pink. Well struck in general, a touch of softness to the central obverse high point is characteristic of a Proof Morgan dollar from the late 1880s/early 1890s. Desirable Choice quality from a Proof mintage that has been given as either 833 or 800 pieces in the more popular numismatic references of the last half century or so.
