Description

Fr. 321. 1891 $20 Silver Certificate. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.

A top of the pop note with none graded finer by PMG, and a piece which will surely catch the eye of all seeking the finest known material available. The overprints are particularly rewarding to look at as the blue treasury seal and vibrant blue serials are deeply embossed into the frost like paper. Attractive centering and margins house the deeply impressed design and terrific registration of the face and back. Truly a scare opportunity to secure this popular catalog number. These notes are particularly difficult to locate in any grade, and this Gem is sure to please. Allegorical figures representing Agriculture and Industry are found on the face flanking a solemn portrait of Secretary of the Treasury Daniel Manning, who had died in December 1887, which would have been just a recent memory when this series was first printed. PMG Pop 9/None finer.

Estimate: $25000.00 - $35000.00
