1872-S Liberty Seated Half Dollar. WB-3. Rarity-3+. Medium-Small S. AU-55 (PCGS).
Satiny, near-fully lustrous surfaces exhibit wisps of steel-rose iridescence that are more pronounced on the obverse. The San Francisco Mint struck 580,000 half dollars in 1872, and most entered domestic circulation and remained there until worn out or lost. In attractive Choice AU the present example is scarce and will certainly catch the eye of specialists in the Liberty Seated half dollar series.
