1819 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-107. Rarity-4. MS-62 (PCGS).
Actually an intermediate die state between O-107 and O-107a, most of the peripheral crack on the reverse is present, as well as a single light crack on the obverse from the border, through star 2, to the top of Liberty's bust. This is an attractively original piece with warm toning in olive and pearl gray. Sharply struck with full satin luster. Although the Spring 2021 revision to Stephen J. Herrman's AMBPR for Bust half dollars lists a number of MS-62s as tied for CC#2 for the 1819 O-107 attribution, the present example is unlisted therein and, as such, is a newcomer to the Condition Census.
