1856 Franklin Institute Award Medal. Julian AM-17, Harkness Pa-45, Greenslet GM-91. Silver. SP-63 (PCGS).
51.1 mm. Plain edge. With original book-style velvet lined leather case and slipcase, as issued. Awarded to G. Heath and I.S. Parsons, Springfield, Delaware County (PA) for model tools, 1856. A stunning piece with full luster, reflective surfaces, and the sort of elegant deep gray and navy blue toning, highlighted with pale blue, gold, and rose, that can only be imbued by generations in the original case of issue. This is unusual for its quality, but also for the company's location, a populous Philadelphia suburb.
