JULIUS CAESAR. AR Denarius (3.59 gms), Uncertain mint, possibly Utica, 46 B.C. NGC EF, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 2/5. Edge Cuts, Slight Bend.

Cr-467/1b; CRI-57a; Syd-1024. Obverse: Head of Ceres right, wearing grain wreath; Reverse: Emblems of the augurate and pontificate: simpulum, aspergillum, guttus, and lituus; [M] ( munus = gift) to right. Sporting a deep cabinet tone, this alluring example stands as a solid representation for the type despite the few noted issues.
