IONIA. Uncertain. AR Drachm, Early-mid 3rd Century B.C. NGC Ch VF.

cf. HGC-6, 1134 (Chios). In the name and types of Alexander III (the Great) of Macedon. Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left on throne, holding scepter and eagle; in left field, monogram above grape bunch. Deeply toned and alluring, this imitative type was inspired by the expansive coinage of Alexander.
