Description

SICILY. Leontini. AR Tetradrachm (16.51 gms), ca. 430-425 B.C. NGC AU, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 1/5. Fine Stylis. Edge Chips.

HGC-2, 671. Obverse: Laureate head of Apollo left; Reverse: Head of roaring lion left; three barley grains around; leaf to right. This lot comes with a photo certificate from NGC attesting to the grade; they have elected not to encapsulate it on account of the noted edge chipping. Despite the issues on the reverse, an incredibly great obverse.

Estimate: $500.00-$1000.00
