1887-S Liberty Head Half Eagle. MS-64 (PCGS). CAC.
Uncommonly smooth surfaces set this coin apart from most other certified 1887-S half eagles in numismatic circles. Bountiful mint frost is also a praiseworthy attribute, and vivid rose-gold patina provides outstanding visual appeal. Survivors from a generous mintage of 1,912,000 pieces are available in grades through MS-63, but any finer and the 1887-S becomes a noteworthy condition rarity. This premium quality MS-64 is sure to see spirited bidding from gold enthusiasts.
