1854-O Liberty Seated Quarter. Arrows. Briggs 1-A, FS-501. Huge O. EF Details--Cleaned (PCGS).

A perennially popular variety with Liberty Seated quarter enthusiasts, the scarce 1854-O FS-501 features a large and misshapen mintmark that it may have been carved into the die by hand at the New Orleans Mint. Extremely Fine and About Uncirculated examples carry an impressive Rarity-7 rating in Larry Briggs' 1991 reference The Comprehensive Encyclopedia of United States Liberty Seated Quarters.
