Description
1796 Draped Bust Dime. JR-2. Rarity-4. VG-8 (PCGS).
Vivid undertones of cobalt blue and golden-rose enhance dominant steel and charcoal-gray patina on both sides of this endearing VG example. The upper left obverse border is a bit softer than other areas, but all major design elements retain good outline detail and are fully appreciable. Wispy handling marks are mentioned for accuracy, but with no sizeable blemishes and a pleasing appearance in hand, this is a desirable type candidate for the grade from the first year of issue for the United States Mint's dime series.
