1787 New Jersey Copper. Maris 56-n, W-5310. Rarity-1. Camel Head--Overstruck on a 1788 RR-25 Vermont Copper--Very Fine, Granular.
108.95 grains. Handsome medium brown patina with the central design elements bold and fully appreciable. Those around the peripheries are more or less off the flan, however, although parts of the date and several letters are discernible. There are no marks of note, microgranularity to the surfaces mentioned for accuracy. Traces of the undertype are most pronounced at the right obverse and upper right reverse. Overstrikes are common for this Maris number, but a Vermont copper is a scarcer host.
