MEXICO. Contemporary Counterfeit 8 Reales, 1802. FINE.
Weight: 25 gms. Counterfeit of a 1802-Mo TH 8 Reales (the 'TH' assayer did not appear on Mexican coin until 1804 however). Produced in lead or similar metal, this interesting counterfeit is dull gray in color and slightly porous, with reasonably well placed design elements and correct edging design.
