RIC-642; RSC-745 var. (bust type). Obverse: Laureate and draped bust right; Reverse: Victory advancing left, holding wreath and palm frond. Incredibly elegant and attractive, this well centered specimen exhibits very little in the way of handling and offers great, intricate detail. From the first year of Commodus's reign as emperor, compare to another early specimen of the type that realized a hammer of over $4,200 [!] in a Swiss sale in 2018.
