Liberty Head Half Eagle
1892-S Liberty Head Half Eagle. MS-63 (PCGS).
Blended medium rose patina and satiny mint luster blanket both sides of this smooth and inviting Choice example. The 1892-S is the first San Francisco Mint half eagle produced since 1888, the export trade claiming many of the 298,400 coins struck. Repatriations account for most of the Mint State coins in today's market, but they are few in an absolute sense, and very few when viewed in the wider context of the late date Liberty Head half eagle series. Combining absolute and condition scarcity, this splendid PCGS MS-63 is sure to catch the eye of advanced gold enthusiasts.
