Morgan Silver Dollar
1921 Morgan Silver Dollar. MS-64 DPL (NGC).
This fully brilliant, silver-white example possesses an uncommon degree of reflectivity in the fields for a survivor of the Philadelphia Mint's final circulation strike Morgan dollar issue. Noted silver dollar Wayne Miller ( The Morgan and Peace Dollar Textbook ) perhaps said it best when it comes to evaluating the elusiveness of the 1921 with a Prooflike or Deep Mirror Prooflike finish: "Despite the enormous mintage [44,690,000 coins], the 1921-P is somewhat scarce in prooflike condition. Apparently such niceties as polished dies were ignored in the effort to strike the most coins possible....Minimally abraded coins are rare and often realize significant premiums." This is just such a coin, a remarkably well preserved near-Gem that is sure to catch the eye of astute Morgan dollar enthusiasts.
