Liberty Cap Cent

1794 Liberty Cap Cent. S-25. Rarity-3. Head of 1794. VF-20 (PCGS).

A handsome piece with antique copper patina and slight marbling of lighter reddish-copper. There are a few tiny planchet pits over and around the base of Liberty's portrait, in the right obverse field and near the lower reverse border; there are only a couple of trivial handling marks of note on the obverse. Satiny in texture and generally hard and tight, this attractive mid grade example offers bold detail that wanes only minimally at the upper right obverse and lower reverse borders. Certainly a desirable circulated example of the type, date and die pairing.
