Machin's Mills Halfpenny
1747 Machin's Mills Halfpenny. Vlack 1-47A, W-7660. Rarity-5. GEORGIVS II, Group II. VF-20 (PCGS).
108.6 grains. A problem-free medium olive-brown and steel example with a pleasantly natural appearance. There are no marks, flaws, or roughness -- just even wear. Both dies for the 1747 Machin's Mills halfpenny were very deeply engraved, and it is typical for the detail to not be fully struck up at George's face and at Britannia's legs. That weakness is seen here but this is still a premium quality piece and worthy of a fine collection.
PCGS# 826933.
