26.5 mm, medal only, approximately 61 mm in length overall. Obv: DUV monogram in center surrounded by a wreath, inscription DAUGHTERS OF UNION VETERANS OF THE CIVIL WAR around the periphery, dates 1861-1865 below. Rev: Blank. Looped and suspended from a well preserved red-white-blue silk ribbon, at the top of which is a bronze pinback inscribed FCL.
