(t) CHINA. Hunan Soviet. 20 Cash, ND (1931). NGC Genuine.

An interesting and SCARCE countermarked issue displaying a hammer and sickle within a 5-pointed star applied to the obverse of a Hunan provincial 20 Cash. This countermark appears on usually heavily worn Imperial or Republican 10 and 20 Cash issues such as the case with the present survivor. Both the obverse and reverse exhibit light surface porosity as is commonly encountered on examples of this type. Despite its shortcomings an interesting issue sure to add depth to the next collection it enters. It is claimed that these were once found among bags of Chinese coppers that were being melted by the Japanese during WWII; in total, it is believed that around 100 were found out of 30,000 coins.

有趣而珍罕的戳記版。湖南省造二十文的正面打上五芒星戳記，内有錘和鐮圖案。戳記常打於經流通的大清或民國的十文、二十文上，此枚亦是如此。正反幣面均有輕微凹凸孔隙，屬此版特徵。除此以外，不失為一枚饒有趣味，能豐富集藏得一枚錢幣。據稱是從被日軍在二戰期間正在熔毀的中國銅幣中發現，據信，當時30,000枚硬幣中，共尋回100枚。
