Ancient Chinese Coins

Weight: 28.8. "Wu zi deng ke"; Reverse: Chang ming fu gui". This handsome, well-made example bares an inscription in a similar fashion to those found on various cast Cash issues. The open fields retain much of their natural rough texture with bold well-formed calligraphy and much remaining evidence of the finishing process on the high points and rims. There are a couple disturbances in the lower right quadrant in the field of the reverse that appear to be quite old matching the rest of the coin as well one void on the rim on the obverse. This attractive representative is quite attractive with pleasing rich brassy patina and good eye appeal with a hint of iridescence that pops out when caught in the right light.
