Obverse: SVERIGES RIKSBANK TILL ALFRED NOBELS MINNE 1968, bare head of Nobel left; crossed cornucopias below; Reverse: KUNGLIGA VETENSKAPSAKADAMIEN, radiant North Star surrounded by four crowns. Incredibly vibrant and shimmering, with great brilliance radiating throughout. Born in Hungary as Ernster László in 1920, Lars Ernster immigrated to Sweden in 1946, playing an important role in the scientific community and joining the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 1974. He delivered the presentation speech for the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1978, and was a member of the board of the Nobel Foundation from 1977-1988, passing away in 1998.
