VA-169. Virginia. May 3, 1779. $50. PMG Very Fine 30.
No.16688. Signed by Cooke and Craig. Bright paper and bold inks are found on this large format 1779 dated $50 note. The thin laid paper the $50 and $100 notes were printed on did not wear well making these highly susceptible to problems. Despite the tape repairs cited by the grading service this example faces up quite nicely.
