Description

Miscellaneous Exonumia

Lot of (3) Interesting and Diverse Items.

Includes an 1844 Canadian Bank of Montreal halfpenny token counterstamped TIMBUCTO / ESSEX / CO. / NY that Rulau notes is possibly from John Brown's commune in the Adirondak Mountains, Brunk-T302, Rulau NY-2021. Also a holed and very worn copper coin that is counterstamped EXSIDAS PROVOST / WARE / MASS on one side and A / EXSIDAS / PROVOST / WARE MASS / A on the other, host coin Poor, the counterstamp Very Fine, thought by a former owner to be a prison token, unlisted in Rulau and Zara. Finally an 1883 "potty" Liberty Seated dime -- an unusual engraving that is very rarely seen on this denomination, Fine.

From the Norman G. Peters Collection.
