Engraved Coins, Love Tokens, and Coin Jewelry
Engraved Military Award Fashioned out of an 1880s Morgan Dollar.
The obverse of the host coin is engraved with CHAMPION / CO. E. / 4TH REGT O.V.I. / JULY 30TH 1879 (on a ribbon) / W.H. BAUMGARDNER inside the border made from the coin’s dentils. Holed at the top for suspension. A military award medal from the Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Exactly what the event was is unknown.
