Counterstamps
(B)ADGER / (GEAR) counterstamped on the obverse and CAST / STEEL on an 1820 Matron Head large cent. Brunk-Unlisted, Rulau-Unlisted. Host coin Very Good.
An interesting and intriguing counterstamp and currently a unique example. Most likely a tool related stamp that was applied to the tool itself, one made of cast steel, likely in the 1840s or early 1850s.
