J. TUTTON (curved) on an 1853 Braided Hair large cent. Brunk-Unlisted, Rulau-Unlisted. Host coin Very Fine.
This is likely the stamp of James Tutton, a machinist located in Addison, NY and working at least in the 1850s and 1860s. He is also listed on the 1860 Federal census as a machinist.
