S.H. GERRISH. on an 1803 Draped Bust large cent. Brunk G-187, Rulau-Unlisted. Host coin Fine.

Brunk lists no information for the issuer of this stamp. Samuel Howard Gerrish (1834-1912) was born in New Hampshire, but moved to Sacramento, CA in 1860, where he is listed on the Federal census as a machinist from 1860 to 1880. Great biographical information on Gerrish can be read at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Gerrish-76. This is the earliest dated coin with this mark and is not among those reported in Brunk.
