Liberty Head Double Eagle
1890-CC Liberty Head Double Eagle. EF-45 (PCGS).
Light pinkish-honey patina blankets surfaces that retain plenty of flashy mint luster. Both sides are boldly to sharply defined, as well, with little in the way of actual wear. The mintage for this popular issue is 91,209 pieces, up more than 60,000 coins from the preceding year's double eagle tally at the Carson City Mint. Face value was $1,824,180. Survivors are equally popular with mintmarked type collectors, Liberty Head double eagle specialists, and Carson City Mint enthusiasts.
