Circulating Contemporary Counterfeit U.S. Coins
1867 Lead Coin Mold for Making Counterfeit Shield Nickels.
47 mm x 48 mm x 13 mm when assembled. Composed of two lead sections, each with a reversed intaglio image one of the sides of a shield nickel. The two pieces can be precisely fit and held together by a pair of brass pins that fit into a pair of appropriately sized holes on the opposing half of the mold. When assembled and clamped into a vise, a funnel-shaped hole on one of the edges allows molten metal to be poured into the mold to make the cast copy. Probably capable of producing a better quality replica than the wooden mold we are offering.
