Capped Bust Half Dollar
1819 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-109. Rarity-2. MS-64 (NGC).
A fantastically original specimen with golden-gray patina offset by vivid cobalt and pink at the extreme peripheries. Highly lustrous and well-struck, there is much to recommend this Choice Capped Bust half to the dedicated collector of the series, not least of which is the fact that it hails from the Eric P. Newman collection. While the 1819 issue has a healthy number of Mint State coins extant, seldom are they preserved at this level with this kind of eye appeal.
