Capped Bust Half Dollar
1810 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-107a. Rarity-3. MS-63 (PCGS).
A handsome medium gray piece with deeper gray toning at the peripheries that comes alive in the light with blue-green iridescence. Nicely struck with modest weakness confined to just the upper left wing of the eagle. The surfaces are lustrous and free from noteworthy abrasions or blemishes. Extensive die cracks are seen on both sides, confirming the late die state attribution. A lovely example of this early date Bust half dollar, well-suited for an advanced date or major variety set as well as being a condition census example of the die variety. Among those that have been submitted to PCGS as an Overton-107a variety, the best graded is only MS-61.
