Morgan Silver Dollar
1900 Morgan Silver Dollar. Proof-65 Cameo (PCGS). CAC.
Handsome silver-rose iridescence blankets both sides of this smooth and inviting Gem. Sharply struck and expertly preserved, a pronounced cameo finish further enhances this coin's appeal. At 912 coins struck, the 1900 boasts one of the higher mintages in the Proof Morgan dollar series. The Mint was likely anticipating heightened Proof sales to contemporary collectors in connection with the turn of the century. While survivors of the Proof 1900 are readily obtainable in an absolute sense by the standards of the type, most are confined to lower grades through Proof-64. At the present level this issue is notable for its scarcity.
