Liberty Seated Silver Dollar
1866 Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. Motto. Proof-64 Cameo (PCGS).
Lovely iridescent toning in champagne-pink adorns both sides, the right obverse border further enhanced by a blush of cobalt blue. The design elements are fully struck, frosty in texture, and contrast nicely with reflective fields. A simply outstanding representative of the Motto Liberty Seated dollar design type that was issued for only a few years from 1866 until the end of this series in 1873. Not many exist at all, considering the mintage of this Proof issue came in at just 725 pieces, and only a fraction of the survivors are so carefully preserved that they approach or attain the Gem grade level. This is an exceptional coin for its quality and eye appeal.
