Massachusetts Cent
1787 Massachusetts Cent. Ryder 3-G, W-6090. Rarity-3-. Arrows in Left Talon. AU-58 (PCGS).
147.6 grains. Medium brown with emerald overtones and shimmering original mint luster, this ideally centered example is about as perfect as one is wont to find. Lighter tan where the highest points of design motifs were subject to subtle friction, which features also exhibit the softness of strike that bedevils nearly every Massachusetts copper. Whether for a choice colonial and early federal era type collection or a high end die variety set, this piece will never need to be replaced.
PCGS# 302. NGC ID: 2B25.
